Laudum Nature Petit Verdot Vino Ecológico 2020
Nota de cata del enólogo de la bodega
Vineyards: This 25 year old, 3 hectare vineyard is located in one of the coldest areas of the Alto Vinalopó. The choice of clone (maximum quality), pruning method (royat cordon), cultivation (minimum tillage), support irrigation
at the end of winter and spring with water from the Vinalopó river head, monitoring and harvesting have all been selected to obtain the maximum final
quality of this particular grape variety.
Soils: Loamy-clay soil, with moderate levels of nutrients, a pH of 7.5 and an
organic matter content of around 1% .
Climate: Mediterranean climate with a strong continental influence, which
makes it particularly suitable for the correct ripening of Petit Verdot grapes.
After a dry and hot summer, this late-ripening variety requires a long period
of
dry and sunny weather, together with a progressive rise in day to night
temperature variations, which enable the ripening process to conclude with
healthy grapes, with a high sugar content and a good balance of acidity and
pH.
Maceration/ Fermentation: Maceration at low temperatures before fermentation. Fermentation: 1 week at 25°C. Then the wine is aged 8 months in new
French oak barrels.
Yield: 5000kg/ha.
Grape harvest: End of september.
Colour: Intense cherry well covered.
Aroma: Smooth and lusty, with hints of forest ripe berries and balsamic mineral notes.
Taste: Very fleshy, rich maturity without losing the fruitiness , flavourful, with
fat tannins. Good finish, full of subtleties
