The vines from which Latria is made belong to the vine growers in Cornudella de Montsant, a small town in the province of Tarragona within the DO Montsant appellation.

These are low-yield vines over 30 years of age. These organic, goblet-trained vines are earnestly cared for by Celler Malondro using plant ground cover. The wine features Garnacha (50%) and Cariñena (50%) varietals.

These vines are grown at the foot of Montsant in gravelly calcareous clay soil, which is the result of thousands of years of erosion. They surround the ancient villa of Siurana, a fantasy landscape where the grape matures slowly and we can obtain a fine wine with a unique personality.

Harvesting was done between 2 - 13 October in the area of Les Vedrenyes at 500-550 metres for Garnacha, and in the area of Les Troies at 450 metres for the Cariñena varietal. This high altitude means that we are one of the last wineries to begin harvesting.

Malolactic fermentation is done naturally in spring in stainless steel tanks, with the wine in contact with the skins. We then transfer the wine to second fill French oak casks with the aim of fully respecting the properties of the fruit.

Cherry colour, with a purple rim.

Intense and elegant nose, with hints of red fruit, toasted aromas and eucalyptus.

Pleasant in the mouth, well-structured with mild tannins, very crisp, with a long finish that invites you to take another sip.

Pairs well with all types of meat, thick rice dishes, mild cheeses and good company.
